This is a change in the storyline of Shifters & mates. I enjoyed Saffron' s story & how she met Nevada & Landon. It dabbles in BDSM, but they are not really Dom' s. It's okay tho because they're in love.

I'm curious to see how the next one will be.

My Review
The first book in the Alpha Legend series is an intriguing, erotic shapeshifter with some refreshingly unique elements. The author has created an intriguing shifter world with unique elements that gives the reader a different perspective. She maintained a great balance of romance, sex and suspense throughout the story and even has a few surprises for the reader during the journey.

***Note This is the first book in this series, but it continues from the Passion Peak series. You do not have to read the others to enjoy this story. ***

Saffron is on the run because she refuses to mate two men that aren’t her fated mates. They’re bad men who are involved in an evil society. While running she spots the hottest human she’s ever met and the events that unfold from that moment are an interesting story that definitely kept me reading.

At times some of the shifter stuff was a bit confusing or I felt like a lot was repeated which I took as building up the legends and the series. I felt that the characters were well fleshed out and it was believable that Saffron’s grandmother would shield her from so much of her Uncle’s evil deeds.

I really enjoyed the twist of Saffron being framed for murder and the way that it tested the relationship between Landon, Nevada and Saffron. It gave the story that dose of reality since until then they had been living in a cocoon of mated bliss.

I really like this story and will be reading more in the series.
This is the first Shifter book I've read by Tara Rose. I have to admit its great. I like how it brings in characters you've met in a previous series. In this book you meet Nevada, Saffron and Landon. You meet Saffron running from danger and running into Nevada and Landon who think she Is out to Kill them. Can things get any more confusing for these three. I love how they were able to figure out what was really going on and come together.

Great first book in the series.
The title of this book just made me want to read this book. The cover also helped it some.

Leopard shifter Saffron Estampado runs away from her pack because her uncle wants her to marry two brothers that are just as evil as he is. She doesn't like what they are doing and she can't stop them.

Landon Sterling and Nevada Ruiz are cougar shifters and when they run into Saffron they believe that she has been sent to kill them. The more they work together the more they start trusting each other. They realize that they are all running from the same people.

I couldn't seem to put this book down and after I read this one I want to read more. The characters were well matched and the story just kept me in a steady stream. I also didn't see what would happen next. I can't believe that she gets framed for killing her uncle. So when you read this book keep your mind open and just go along with the story.

I have read several books by this author and I love each and everyone that I read. Here's me going off to find another one.
I did enjoy the storyline and the background about an organization that was trying to do away with some of the shifters. Some of the background explained that but then left a lot to one's own imagination. The element of fear at being caught was there. I liked the mother and the grandfather's attitude at being cautious but also going about to continue their lives.

I also like how Ms. Rose introduced a human in the mix with shifters, that had shifters as parents. Saffron is mentioned as having powers but didn’t really reveal anything more about that. I would really like to read the next book in this series to see if anything more is revealed.

BDSM was touched on a little bit. I really like how Nevada explained the lifestyle to Safferon. Also how Nevada and Landon explained they were new and didn’t know anything. The sex scenes were pretty hot, and Saffron was such a willing participant.

I've read a lot of shifter and menage stories. This one left me with mixed feelings, but I liked the storyline well enough. I liked the characters individually, but they didn’t seem very strong or sure of themselves.
Neither male really showed their Alpha side until the end of the book.

What do you like?
The story had good flow; the introduction of new characters was smooth. This book wrap upped some of the characters from the previous series. There was some nice foreshadowing hinting at the next ménage.

What do you not like?
I felt that I really missed a lot since I haven't read all the books from the former series. This book felt more like a suspense book with a romantic relationship as a side story, rather than a romance with suspense. While the book did seem to focus on the suspense most of the actual suspense takes place off screen. There was a lot of doubt and cynicism in the characters. Despite their abilities to read each other they didn't trust and believe in each other. I was also not comfortable with the interrogation room scene, it was just too over the top for me.

Recommend it to a friend? If you have been keeping up with the series and the spinoffs, this would be a good read to have. You can also read it as the beginning of a new series but there might be some nuances that you don't understand. Overall, it was a good read.
