The Ripper! Time Travel!! Mark Vogel takes these two and puts them together like no one else can!
The Ripper's time has a little something for everyone! Time travel romance, and mystery. The author has a knack for intertwining details of the Ripper murders into a totally new story. It will keep you in suspense and turning pages long after your blurry eyes beg you to put the book down! Great book! Very well done.
What a great blend of a love story, the world’s most infamous criminal, and application of current theories of time travel (for us sci-fi nerds). A compelling and unpredictable story, I couldn’t put it down!
The Ripper's Time is an excellent, well written book by a person truly qualified to do so with authority! But,don't worry, this book is much more than the standard Jack the Ripper fare! Mark R. Vogel uses his knowledge to make his characters breathe and what seems like an absolute impossibility, possible. You really feel like you are right there in the gloomy streets of London's East End being pursued by the Ripper! Overall, a seamless job of melding past and present together. Builds until the crashing climax of a conclusion! You will laugh and scream on this roller coaster ride! This is a book you will read more than once and find something new each time you do. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I didn't get this book through but purchased it directly from the author, Mark Vogel, at a small seminar he hosted at a local college where he gave a wonderful overview of the unsolved case of Jack the Ripper. Mark Vogel is a truly amazing writer in every sense of the word. In this book he is able to take us back to a time we've only read about, and make us feel that our feet are on the ground in Jack's time. We are right alongside Henry on his quest to find Jack. The historical details Mr. Vogel provides are woven wonderfully with a modern story of adventure, bravery and love. Just one detail that often seems to slip past authors, proof readers and editors - inside Professor Biedermeier's office you'd have found a 'floor' not the ground, and at Henry's house he would have slid off the chair onto the 'floor' not the ground. Floors are inside, ground is outside. So jump on the 1888 roller coaster and take a ride with Henry.
This book keeps you on the edge of your seat! It is exciting, well written and the author has an amazing gift for transporting you to Jack the Ripper's time. Highly suggest this book
